In a context like the current one of constantly rising prices, it becomes difficult to follow one's passions.
Even the gaming industry is not immune to this widespread trend, as we've seen with the rising prices of physical video game editions and the rise in subscriptions. On-demand streaming services are also not immune. This trend can now be mitigated by cashback or point-gathering programs. In this article, we'll focus specifically on the Microsoft Rewards program, the points-gathering program introduced by Microsoft that perhaps not everyone is familiar with.
What is Microsoft Rewards and how does it work?
Microsoft Rewards allows you to accumulate points simply by using Microsoft services: for example by carrying out searches on Bing , purchasing products from the official store or completing some dedicated missions on Xbox .
Combining these actions, repeated daily over time, can allow you to accumulate considerable sums. There are cases of people who have purchased an entire console without spending a cent.
These points can be converted into gift cards, Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, Microsoft credit, or even charitable donations. The ease of use and variety of rewards mean anyone can benefit from this system without any initial investment by simply integrating it into their daily digital habits.
This way, the passion for gaming and the purchase of new titles or services become more accessible even in difficult times.
Microsoft Rewards presents itself not only as a loyalty system, but as a true ally for those who want to continue cultivating their interests without further burdening the family budget.
How to accumulate points effectively
In this article, I don't just want to give you a general introduction to Microsoft Rewards ; I'll go further and tell you how to earn them as quickly as possible. First of all, for those who want to start earning Rewards, it's important to know about support groups or fan support: for example, on Telegram you can find a public Italian group with 920 users.
While there is no direct conversion rate, 1,000 Rewards points are roughly equivalent to $1.
Looking at redeemable vouchers, a monthly subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is worth 14,000 points .
The conversion rate becomes less convenient if you want to redeem an Amazon voucher, in this case for a voucher worth €5 you need 6,690 points .
A total of 210 points can be earned daily through Bing searches on mobile and desktop. Each search term entered into the Bing search engine within 5 seconds earns 3 points. My advice is to do these searches as soon as possible; in this case, 5 minutes is sufficient. It's important not to use Microsoft Edge extensions that enable automatic searches, as this violates Microsoft policies.
Regarding points related to gaming via Xbox. There are daily points that require playing a game on Xbox Game Pass for at least 15 consecutive minutes. Additional daily points can only be accumulated if you unlock an achievement related to a game on Xbox Game Pass.
Finally, still on the gaming front, Microsoft offers monthly missions that, if completed, unlock up to 1,000 points . These missions may include installing different games from Xbox Game Pass, trying games on Xbox Cloud, or completing certain in-game actions on select games.
Additional points are unlocked automatically by connecting to the Xbox Mobile app on Android and iOS daily.
Calculating your monthly Microsoft Rewards points
Bing searches (desktop and mobile): 210 points per day x 30 days = 6,300 points
Gaming Points on Xbox Game Pass:
Daily points per game (play at least 15 minutes): approximately 10 points per day x 30 = 300 points
Daily points per unlocked achievement: approximately 10 points per day x 30 = 300 points
Xbox Monthly Missions (up to): 1,000 points
Daily connection to the Xbox Mobile app: approximately 5 points per day x 30 = 150 points
With consistent participation and taking advantage of all the methods listed, you can earn up to approximately 8,050 Microsoft Rewards points each month. This total can increase further thanks to any bonuses, special promotions, or additional activities that Microsoft periodically introduces.
The Winning Combination: Rewards + Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
So, anyone who wants to play for free can purchase Xbox Game Pass Ultimate through the Microsoft Rewards program, giving them access to a nearly infinite library of games. Considering that a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs 14,000 points (discounted to 12,000 if you're a long-time rewards member), it takes about two months to redeem the voucher; to redeem a €5 Amazon voucher, you need 6,690 points. Another trick, fully admitted by Microsoft, that allows you to reduce the cost of the subscription is to request three months of Xbox Game Pass Core , the basic version of the subscription.
As soon as the voucher is redeemed, Microsoft itself converts 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Core into 1 month and 20 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate . With Rewards and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft has made gaming fully accessible to everyone.
Many have questioned the sustainability of this system, but in reality I think that for a giant like Microsoft there is no problem.
After all, all large companies have a customer loyalty system. In a rapidly evolving world with fierce competition, it's essential for companies to do everything they can to satisfy their customers, and Microsoft has succeeded perfectly.
Microsoft's desire to maintain and expand the Rewards program is confirmed by breaking news.
With a recent change, Microsoft introduced a referral mechanism that allows anyone participating in the program to invite others to join. Through this system, you can refer friends or acquaintances: each new signup using your referral code increases the benefits for both you and the person signing up, thus creating an even larger and more engaging community.
